Technical Leader Role

We are working with a San Francisco-based client and are expanding our team here in Guadalajara.  Together we’re taking on a big challenge – a product that “virtualizes” large legacy data warehouses (in the multiple terabyte scale) so that they can be migrated into modern cloud environments.  The company has been around since 2015 and recently closed $11M usd in their latest venture funding round.

We’re looking for a Technical Leader to guide the team.  Currently we are six people here in Mexico working closely with about a dozen engineers in San Francisco. In addition to building great products, the team also supports key clients and users of those products.  


As Technical Manager you must be able to do the following:

  • Define a technical project roadmap that combines feasibility with the business objectives and needs of relevant stakeholders
  • Make technical decisions regarding architecture and implementation
  • Function as the primary point of contact for the client
  • Provide guidance for other team members
  • Do periodic code reviews with other team members
  • Write clean, organized, effective and maintainable code
  • Speak, read, and write in english
  • Oversee release engineering including QA, automated testing, integration, and deployment
  • Ensure that all projects are delivered on-time, within scope, and within budget
  • Understand, promote, and use agile and iterative methodologies
  • Reliably update on-line progress tracking systems
  • Coordinate and lead daily technical standup meeting


Your success will be measured in the following ways:

Experience with the following is required:

  • React
  • NodeJS, GraphQL, NPM
  • Sequelize

  • CI-CD: CircleCI
  • Test automation: TestCafe, Mocha
  • Repos: BitBucket, GitHub
  • Packaging: Docker
  • AWS, EC2, RDS, S3, ECS, Fargate
  • Azure cloud, VMs, Blob storage 
  • Virtualization
  • Scrum and Agile
  • Bash

Experience with the following would be nice but not required:
